I was nominated by Victoria who runs the fabulous Memphis Made blog. I haven't known her very long, but she has already become a mentor to me. I don't know how she manages college, a varsity sport, sorority life, a blog, and just being so fabulous- I think we could all learn a lot from her!
I thrive on staying busy (I know, weird...right?) and A Southern Heart allows me to be a fun and positive type of busy. I'm always working on new and exciting posts that people actually want to read. I try to be different and let my personality shine through my posts. Currently, I am working on a the design of A Southern Heart and I couldn't be more excited. I'm hoping to get everything together around the New Year, so please keep stopping by!
Like I mentioned before, staying busy is what I do best. I've been a part of so many different organizations and teams throughout high school and I'm so thankful for that. Each of these groups have shaped who I am today and that is who I hope to share with anyone that reads my posts. I'm not entirely sure that I've opened up my blog to let everyone see the "real" me, but that is something that I am striving to do!
Honestly, I've been blogging since I was in middle school. I started this blog about my dog and wrote about what she did from day to day (aren't you glad I stopped that!). Then in high school I started taking Publications, or yearbook class. Right away I knew that this class would be something more for me than an easy A, it's become a passion, and I hope a future career. Although I can't create yearbooks for the rest of my life, I hope that I am able to design, write, and open up in ways that I am able to do on A Southern Heart. ASH has become a major stress reliever for me. I'll write posts in between studying which allows for me to still be doing something productive. I'm able to share things that I have figured out (usually the long way) in hopes that someone reading somewhere in this world will be thankful for a tip that saved them some time or helped them have a better day!
It just kinda happens and is honestly quite random. Sometimes I'll have a post ready for a month down the road and other times I'll write exactly what is on my mind that day and post it then! I try to keep a running list of things I want to talk about, but life happens and sometimes having a plan doesn't always work.
My first nomination is for PJ from Soulfully Southern. She and I go to school together and have become great "blogger buddies." We are able to share ideas, tips, and tricks to each other by just walking to a class with one another. Although she is only a sophomore, I couldn't be more excited for her new blog and the wonderful high school years ahead of her.
I am also nominating Dorothy from Prep In Your Step. She has been my blogspiration since the very beginning. Her blog has the most creative posts and very insightful tips and tricks that have really helped me throughout my high school career. You don't have to be a blogger to appreciate the amazing work she does!
PS. Victoria and I have a surprise for y'all coming up in the next week- be sure to stay tuned!
