I've been babysitting the same two boys for almost five years now! I've seen them grow into amazing young boys and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them. One challenge that I have faced with the youngest boy is his severe allergy to dairy. It's been really hard (and scary at times) making sure I haven't had any close contact with dairy before I go to be with him. Every now and then he will have a breakout, but I've been extremely lucky over the last few years. I wanted to make my readers aware of the many kids that have allergies, especially with trick-or-treating happening tomorrow! There is this "thing" called The Teal Pumpkin Project which asks families giving out candy to consider another option besides candy filled with chocolate and nuts. What is this other option you may ask? Non-food treats! The Food Allergy Research & Education website has more information and ideas for non-candy treats! Please consider purchasing non-food treats and handing them out instead of candy tomorrow night. Plus, you can paint this cute little pumpkin to let families know that you are taking part in The Teal Pumpkin Project!
Three cheers for spreading allergy awareness! Who's going to participate?
